The Wind Power Weather Center now has 7 sensors on Lake Winnebago and 1 on Lake Poygan. It is on this site under the cameras buttons. The last sensor added is at High Cliff Marina. Thanks to those who have installed them. More news can be seen at Wind Power Weather Center.
It has been a big year for the Weather Center! Going multi-sensor with our new Tempest weather sensors and new home page map. It has been a lot of work and hopefully you like the changes.
If you don’t get the Forecast & Windsock Alerts, please sign-up! You get a daily forecast email showing Noaa forecast with windsock rating and recommended launches. At a glance you can see what days might be sailable so you can adjust your schedule to get out and sail! Plus you get Windsock Alerts, per sensor, when it is windy. We think the Alerts are awesome and encourage you to get them.
It’s a beautiful time to go sailing and boating. The fishermen are out early in the morning on the lake. Enjoy the outdoors for the weather is very nice out.
The Midwest’s fishing tournament and the family &
fishing event of the year! Battle on Bago 2020 was a great success for it was
held on Lake Winnebago on the 20th and the 21st this month of June 2020. There were 750 entrants in the
fishing contest with the first place prize went to team #3 Joe Pausha and Eric
Palmquist with a two day total weight of fish at 30.610lbs. There were 375 team
boat entries in the tournament with top prize at $20,000.
In
2007 members the Oshkosh Southwest Rotary came together to create this
trademark event after seeing the growing issue of youths being stuck behind a
television or computer screen. They decided to rally the community to help fund
efforts to get youths up, outdoors and involved in local conservation efforts.
Since its inception, Battle on Bago has raised close to $500,000 and given it
back to the community. Thanks to the community and sponsors of the event.
Battle on Bago is not
just for people whom love to fish. Join the party in at Miller’s Bay for great
food and drinks, live music and amazing raffle prizes each night. The
annual fishing tournament features more than $275,000 worth of prizes, and with
how the Battle on Bago is set up on how you can win prizes, everyone has a
chance to go home a winner. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next Battle on
Bago tournament coming this February which is the winter edition of this event
that features ice fishing!

2020 registration is now open. We are proceeding with
optimism that the current COVID-19 community restrictions will be lifted in
time for our 2020 Summer Programs.

Fishing on the Wolf River, Cameras on the Wolf River.
It’s a windy day out today and the kit sailors are out on the water by Wind Power Surf Shop in Fond du Lac. The camera is provided by Wind Power surf shop. Below is a photo of the fun that can be had on the lake when it blows a three sock day.
The walleyes are running up the Wolf River and can be seen on the three cameras under water at Wolf River Cams. The first camera has the most action on it so far with Suckers, Walleyes, Sturgeon, White Bass and Perch on the cameras at Shiocton 1. The second camera is at Shiocton 2. The third camera is in New London. The link for Wolf River Cam is under links, more cameras at FoxRiverSystemWebcams.com it is the first link on the page. There is a camera in Winneconne looking at the river and the fishing docks called the Bridge Cam.
High Cliff Marina has slips available; they are located on the north end of Lake Winnebago High Cliff Marina, Sherwood.
Located on the northeastern shoreline in High Cliff State Park. Features breakwater entrance, 4 boat launches, 95 boat slips, showers, and travel lift. Landmark includes ruins of an old lime kiln appear on the shoreline with radio tower over the horizon just north of Marina entry. The marina entrance was dredged to at least 7′ in Fall 2019. Slips are available with private showers and restrooms for slip renters. The High Cliff Yacht Club is one of the oldest clubs.

Menasha Marina has opening for sailboats and power boats. In our harbor there is an area that the sailboats park, which is by the apartment side. As of right now there are openings. I do have marina information at the harbor.

Slips available on the Menasha River call Jim Stolla @ (920) 858-1913. Rental is $600 yr. To own is a onetime fee of $800 (non-refundable) then $400yr thereafter. Owners get priority on slip availability and can vote at annual mtg. The 4 large end slips are $1000, and are not available.

The Neenah-Nodaway Yacht Club manages over 100 moorings for sailboats in the Neenah harbor located in the south channel of the Fox River as it exits Lake Winnebago. Fifteen of the moorings are located near the Theda Clark medical center with the remainder located closer to Riverside Park at the east end of E. Wisconsin Avenue.
The harbor is reached by entering the river to the north of the Neenah lighthouse following the navigation buoys provided by the Army Corps of Engineers and the City of Neenah.
